The Pier in the Early 1950's

I lived in Kure Beach in 1950 through 1952 and attended the 4th and 5th grade in Carolina Beach. I can remember the pier when the "Spots" were running. There were some of the best years of my life. We last visited in the summer of 1960. Our friends there were the Lauders (sp) and I think he had something to do with the pier and tackle shop. They also had a daughter that was somewaht older then me. I hope on my next trip to NC to make it back. Our daughter now lives in Chapel Hill.
