Step up for Soldier's Children
Another GREAT event will be taking place Saturday May 30, 2009 at Kure Beach Fishing Pier. The 4th Annual Step Up For Soldier's Children will be held on Saturday May 30, 2009 at 7:00 am - 1:00 pm. It is for children of Active Military Family Members only and you must pre-register at www.stepupforsoldiers.org. There will be lots of Fun, Food and Entertainment, just an all around great time for all. Looking forward to seeing everyone who can attend
14th ANNUAL YOUTH FISHING TOURNAMENT
WHEN: SATURDAY JUNE 6, 2009 WHERE: KURE BEACH FISHING PIER The Carolina Beach Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting their annual Youth Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 6th. The event will be at the Kure Beach Fishing Pier. Registration will run from 6-8 am, with the Tournament running from 7 - 10 am. All kids between the ages of 5 and 15 are invited. Entry for the Tournament is only $1 with cash prizes for the biggest fish caught. There will also be plenty of Lucky Fisherman raffles given out. The first 100 kids without poles will receive a free fishing pole and the first 150 kids will receive a free T-shirt. Free bait while it lasts. Kure Pier will be having a year long Fishing Tournament that will begin March 31, 2007 and end Thanksgiving Weekend. There will be a $10.00 Entry Fee per species. The species are King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Sheepshead and Blues. Click here for More info!

One of North Carolina's oldest and finest, this 712 foot fishing pier was recently rebuilt and restored. See photo below. Fishing bait, tackle, rods 'n' reels, coolers, drinks, food, tee shirts, body boards, ocean jewelry, beach balls....just about anything you may need, you'll find inside this unique coastline establishment. As well as some great fishing, the pier house features hi-tech virtual arcade games for the kids and a gift shop for mom. Just the site of Kure Beach Fishing Pier is enough to get those fisherman instincts aroused, so check back often for our fishing reports and get ready to do some awesome saltwater fishing on Kure Beach Pier. |

The photo above was taken during the 1997 restoration of Kure Pier following Hurricanes Bertha and Fran that
bombarded the North Carolina Coastline in July and September of 1996. The crane is still at the end of the pier and construction of the handrails are almost to the halfway point. |
